The Nissan Qashqai has been one of the most talked-about new vehicles ever since it was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show last January.

Already sold in numerous markets all over the world, the 2017 Nissan Qashqai is finally making its way towards Canada and should arrive in dealerships this June. And when the Qashqai does arrive, it will immediately have an advantage over its competition with a starting price of just $19,998, making it the most affordable subcompact SUV in its class!

2017 Nissan Qashqai: the most affordable sport utility vehicle in its segment

The all-new Qashqai will indeed be the most affordable subcompact SUV currently on the market if we exclude automaker incentives, but that doesn’t mean it will be lacking in the features department. Regardless of which version of the new Qashqai you opt for, you will never be left wanting for more equipment.

The entry-level Nissan Qashqai S will come with a manual transmission will also offer heated seats, a rear-view camera, Bluetooth, and a 5-inch touchscreen. Every 2017 Qashqai also offers a 2.0-liter engine that delivers 141 horsepower and 147 lb.ft. of torque, and you also get 648 liters of cargo space behind the rear seats. That space climbs to more than 1,700 liters when you fold the rear seats down. The SL and SV trims also feature Nissan’s Divide-N-Hide system that adds even more versatility to the rear cargo area.

Speaking of the SV and SL trims, the first is offered starting at $24,598 while the second starts at $29,498. 2017 Nissan Qashqai SV owners will get a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate controls, a sunroof, 17-inch wheels, a remote starter, SiriusXM satellite radio and a lot more while SL owners get 19-inch wheels, a navigation system, a larger 7.0-inch touchscreen and Nissan’s intelligent key.

2017 Nissan Qashqai: Active safety features that prevent accidents

The 2017 Nissan Qashqai also features the Platinum model starting at $32,198. This model includes all of the features of the S, SV, and SL trims, but then adds impressive driver assistance technologies designed to keep you safe out on the road and prevent any possible accidents.

These include an adaptive cruise control system, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic headlights and forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
