The all-new 2026 Nissan LEAF makes effortless EV ownership a reality. Featuring a more streamlined charging experience, improved range, a more enjoyable drive and a remarkably sleek new design, LEAF represents the best of Nissan EV technology.

LEAF’s long range and quick charging make ownership a breeze. It is estimated to deliver up to 488 kilometers of range per charge.2 Additionally, LEAF can be recharged at compatible chargers from 10% to 80% in just 35 minutes3. Coupled with predicted enhanced energy efficiency and North American Charging Standard (NACS) compatibility, the all-new 2026 Nissan LEAF simplifies commuting and road trips alike.

“The 2026 Nissan LEAF is the stylish, smart EV that is easy to charge, easy to live with and easy to fit into your life,” said Christian Meunier, chairman, Nissan Americas. “Nissan’s unmatched level of knowledge in the mass-market electric vehicle space resulted in the third-generation LEAF being the simplest, most intuitive EV yet.”

LEAF owners have driven over 12 billion EV miles globally4 representing a wealth of real-world experience and feedback that helped make every part of the new model better for everyday life. Nissan engineers used this trove of industry-exclusive EV knowledge to optimize every part of the all-new LEAF.

The all-new 2026 LEAF will reach Nissan dealerships this fall.

Sleek new design

“We have completely reconstructed the values of the next-generation LEAF,” said Tase Nobutaka, program design director at Nissan. “We made it simple and clean, yet with a more energetic feeling. We ensured the all-new LEAF has a dynamic shape, testing it time and time again to reach our ambitious aerodynamic targets.”

The 2026 LEAF has a crossover form factor that precisely blends aerodynamic performance with clean, dynamic lines. It has a substantially decreased drag coefficient of just 0.26, down from the prior LEAF’s 0.29, contributing to its impressive efficiency.

LEAF’s super-clean exterior includes motorized flush front door handles, a first on a Nissan production car, with concealed rear door handles in the C-pillar. In front, a black grille is home to the optionally illuminated Nissan emblem, stacked rectangular lighting elements and an available full-width running lamp.

The upper body is defined by a sleekly curving roofline, accentuated by a katana-blade-like molding, recalling that on the Nissan Z sports car. The window glass has been seamlessly integrated for a cleaner appearance and improved aerodynamic performance.

The rear fenders kick up dramatically to meet the sloping rear window. Mounted at a 45º angle, a spoiler on the liftgate is subtle yet crucially important to LEAF’s aerodynamic performance.

Throughout the car, Nissan designers incorporated “2-3” iconography consisting of two rectangles paired with three perpendicularly aligned rectangles. This references the company’s name, with “2-3” pronounced “ni-san” in Japanese. The graphic is seen in the headlights and tail lamps, the wheel designs and subtly incorporated into the cabin, to reference the company’s history and identity.

LEAF SV+ wears 18-inch alloy wheels incorporating the 2-3 graphic, while LEAF PLATINUM+ features 19-inch wheels with a unique design.

Bold colour choices emphasize LEAF’s progressive and modern appearance, including Seabreeze Blue Pearl with Black roof, Coulis Red Pearl with black roof, Everest White Pearl Tricoat with black roof, Boulder Gray Pearl with black roof, Deep Ocean Blue Pearl, Everest White, Gun Metallic and Black Diamond Pearl.

Spacious, minimalist, connected

The inside of the new LEAF is roomy and airy, with a seamless yet functional design, with unexpected charm throughout. It’s noticeably spacious, with redesigned seats that enhance second-row knee room; an open, flat floor beneath the dashboard; and a slimmer centre console by virtue of relocating shift controls to the dashboard. Available 64-colour ambient lighting (PLATINUM+ grade) allows drivers to personalize the cabin’s illumination to their preferences.

An available dimming panoramic roof – a segment first5 – can be varied from transparent to near-totally opaque at the press of a button. The reversible process uses a multi-layer glass element that helps block light and heat when an electrical current is applied. Not only impressive to watch in action, this advanced panoramic roof increases headroom and improves aerodynamics compared to a traditional moonroof.

Designed as a crossover, LEAF makes it easy to step in and out. The spacious cargo area offers up to 55.5 cubic feet of space behind the second-row seats. An available Divide-N-Hide® organizer helps secure additional cargo below the trunk floor or can be removed for additional cargo room.

The effortless EV experience

Building on its long history of offering accessible EV mobility to all, Nissan developed the all-new 2026 LEAF to deliver enhanced driving range and simplify charging. LEAF uses a new 75-kWh, liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack paired with a 214-horsepower electric motor.

LEAF can charge at up to 150 kWh, speeding up road trips by reducing the amount of time needed to stop at public chargers. Its dual charging ports give owners convenience and flexibility in how and where they recharge.

A familiar J1772 charge port on the driver’s-side fender allows for plugging in at home and many Level 2 public chargers, while the NACS fast charge port on the passenger-side fender unlocks the faster speeds of Tesla Superchargers.

Public charging is made simpler thanks to the NISSAN Energy Charge Network6, accessed through the enhanced MyNISSAN app, it allows drivers to find charging stations, see real-time charger availability and pay for charging – all in one seamless experience. The NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network is one of the largest public charging networks with more than 100,000 in-network chargers in the U.S and 25,000 in Canada.

LEAF is the first Nissan vehicle with Plug & Charge7. When activated, drivers can simply plug LEAF into a compatible public charger and the charging session will begin – no need to open an app or swipe a payment card.

LEAF will also be offered with a 52-kWh battery pack (late availability8) paired with a 174-horsepower motor, offering EV drivers a choice in the amount of driving range and value they desire.

Simplified charging in winter

The 2026 Nissan LEAF offers consistent charging performance even in cold weather thanks to its enhanced battery thermal management system. The battery pack is sealed by a resin cover beneath the vehicle, helping keep cold air, snow and slush away from it during winter driving. LEAF also now captures wasted heat from the drive motor and the on-board charger, and re-purposes that heat to help warm the battery to its ideal temperature range. By maintaining an ideal battery temperature during cold weather, LEAF offers improved energy efficiency that can contribute to greater driving range, as well as more predictable charging performance.

To further optimize energy usage during cold conditions, LEAF has a standard, energy-efficient heat pump to help warm the cabin. A standard battery heater further contributes to winter charging performance; the driver can engage the heater to warm the battery before charging in cold weather.

Simply connected

LEAF brings familiar apps and intuitive connectivity right to the vehicle dashboard with available Google built-in – including Google Maps, Google Assistant and the Play Store – with dual 14.3-inch screens in SV+ and PLATINUM+ grades.

The integrated Google Maps interface makes planning long trips effortless because the Maps app identifies and recommends charging stops based on each route. It also predicts the vehicle’s remaining state of charge at the destination and allows the driver to adjust the level of charge they would like to arrive with.

For more powerful and immersive music, PLATINUM+ features a Bose® Personal Plus® sound system9 with 10 speakers, including front headrest speakers that allow the driver to focus phone calls or navigation directions only to the front seat.

LEAF S and S+ feature dual 12.3-inch screens and standard wireless Apple CarPlay® and wireless Android Auto™.

All LEAF grades make it simple to keep devices charged. Two front USB Type C ports are standard, while SV+ and PLATINUM+ add two charge-only rear USB Type C ports and a wireless phone charger.

Confidence for the road ahead

The all-new 2026 Nissan LEAF has been extensively tested across locations in Europe, Asia and North America, including north Quebec during the coldest time of the year. Nissan also tested LEAF’s charging performance with employees’ own charging stations in their garages, ensuring the new model would effortlessly connect to chargers of almost any make or model.

Like all Nissan vehicles, LEAF has numerous technologies that enhance driver confidence and convenience. It has standard Nissan Safety Shield® 360 on all grades, including Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It also features Lane Departure Prevention, Blind Spot Intervention and Forward Collision Warning.

Several useful camera systems are standard on LEAF S+ grade and higher.  3D Around View® Monitor w/ Fixed Views Moving Object Detection10 features eight pre-selected angles from which the driver can see a virtual view of the car, providing a more natural viewpoint to see the vehicle’s surroundings when parking or maneuvering. Front Wide View10 is new to LEAF and provides a wide-angle view to the front and sides of the vehicle. It provides additional visibility for “seeing” past parked cars or around corners in tight garages. Additionally, Invisible Hood View10 allows for a virtual view “through” the engine bay to help spot car wash tracks, drive-through curbs or other obstacles.

All LEAF grades feature ProPILOT Assist10, which combines Intelligent Cruise Control with steering assistance to help the driver stay centered in their lane and maintain a set speed and distance to the vehicle ahead.

LEAF additionally includes a Nissan-first safety technology called Secondary Collision Mitigation Braking10. When the air bag control unit detects a collision, it applies the brakes to help reduce the severity of or prevent a secondary crash into another vehicle or hazard.
